Tim
Walsh presented the financial report. As of September
31, 2005 CREW had total assets of $39,395.06 ($13,455.25
in checking, $2,985.12 in savings, $22,954.69 in receivables,
and no outstanding invoices). Stacy Bartoletti moved and
Steve Charvat seconded that the financial report be approved.

a.
Business/Homeowners Risk Reduction (Ines Pearce) - Home
Retrofit Program had second of five Home Depot events
in Tacoma. Director of Economic Development in Tacoma
attended and was very interested in the event. Everett,
South Center, and Kent are next. Recent hurricanes have
significantly increased interest in Home Retrofit.
Seven
of Nine chapters in the Disaster Resistant Business Tool
Kit are now complete with the text and last two are in
progress. The document will look at disaster planning
in a comprehensive way. The committee will be reviewing
the text only version by mid November with a more widespread
second level review to follow later. Pearce suggested
that CREW may be able to identify some volunteers for
second level review. Fred Savaglio noted that his feeling
is that there is a great amount of interest in individual/home
preparedness following the recent hurricanes.

Emergency Management Organizations (Dave Spicer) - Pacific
Peril has been on hold with recent disasters and the next
meeting has been moved to November. Pacific Peril will
include a Cascade Earthquake with tsunami on the coast.
The CREW scenario will be the basis for the exercise.
Focus will be on the ability to deliver mass relief and
emergency shelter.
Blue
Cascades will also be using the CREW scenario as a basis
and will deal with recovery and not just response. The
event is sponsored by PNW Economic Region and will be
held on March 2nd.
c.
Web Site (Ella Elman) - Elman reported that there is new
content on the front page of the web site. The search
page is working. She is looking for volunteers to help
go through content of various sections and revamp as needed.
Pearce, Nosen, and Zimmerman all volunteered to look at
content with Elman.
d.
Scenario Development (Benioff within Portland Area) (Gail
Dreckman) - Dreckman had no update. It is expected that
Craig Weaver will have an update at the next CREW meeting.
e.
Professional Community Involvement (Andre LeDuc and Stacy
Bartoletti) - Le Duc requested that people send him updates
on upcoming events that are broad based and cover the
backgrounds of the group. He will prepare a list of events
for the next meeting.
f.
Cannon Beach Project (Andre LeDuc) - LeDuc had an initial
meeting with Cannon Beach that had great government representation
and participation. There will be a community forum at
the end of January or start of February 2006. The Cannon
Beach Project is proposed to have two outputs. One will
be a Cannon Beach Case Study looking at immediate response,
mid term response, and long term response and the other
will be a report on how to put together a Case Study forum
that can be used by other communities.

National Earthquake Conference in 2007 (Craig Weaver)
- No updates.
h.
Speakers Bureau (Bob Freitag) - Bill White reported that
there will be and EPPIC event (11th Annual Forum) February
27 through March 1, 2006 in Vancouver. There was a discussion
on the need or desire for CREW to participate. Bill will
report back to CREW on needs.
Tim
Walsh and Bob Freitag will be speaking at the Are You
Prepared conference at the Seattle Center.

Quarterly Meeting Program (Joan Scofield) - Freitag reported
for Scofield. Plan is to have next meeting at OSU in Corvallis
and have part of the meeting look at the Tsunami Wave
Research facility on the campus. Thursday January 19,
2006 was agreed as the date.

b. Role of
CREW in Winter Olympics:
Bill White
reported that BC has not yet started to look in detail
at Emergency Management. The structure is being put into
place.
Kelli McReynolds
gave an overview of the BC Provincial Emergency Program
organization for the 2010 Olympics. In 2007 exercises
will begin and there may be some role for CREW.
